Scary

Ya just don't mess with this face, the schnauzers here all know that...Cyrus is learning, boys are a little slower on the uptake.  Fiddle, however, is a very consistent teacher :-)

Sweeter then Pumpkin Pie

Love LOVE this photo of Fiddle.  However, you should see the out-takes, mostly Fiddle giving me her best stink eye glare, threatening to do evil to me with those pumpkins.  Makes getting this lovely photo out of over 100 shots (thanks for cooperating Fiddle) all the sweeter.

Newly shorn

My gorgeous Fiddle...newly sheared.  I struggled over doing this and finally decided that instead of always being shaggy but wiry I would rather her be clippered and neat looking.  Coarse stripped coat, or, clipped right down, Fiddle looks pretty.
Fiddle is Mick's girl, he hasn't seen her yet, looking forward to seeing what he thinks tomorrow when he arrives home.

Spring is in the air

Fiddle enjoys the window cocked open for the first time this year What is it Fiddle, a spring breeze? Bike riders enjoying the day? Folks taking a walk Oh NO! It's the little bastard Chipmunk here to taunt my dogs! He/she sits less then 6 foot from the front window, totally oblivious to the chaos going on in my house. Oh how I hate chipmunks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Continuing with yesterdays wild flower theme, Fiddle checking out some pretty blue Chicory flowers on the roadside. No denying that Fiddle is the real flower in this quirky shot of her.

Covering all the bases

We have pups, they arrived about 1.5 weeks ago. This is Fiddle's final litter, she has always been a fantastic mom, this time is no different. They are set up in one of our spare bedrooms which allows me to stumble out my bedroom door at night to check on the family should I hear any noises. The beauty of a great and experienced mom is there are seldom any problems, thank you Fiddle for allowing me to sleep every night. This photo kind of sums up Fiddle's priorities at the moment, her pups and her stuffed Canada Goose. From this vantage she can keep track of both comfortably and ever watchful from the bed, she can also glance over her shoulder when I am upstairs to see what I am up to, which hopefully is the delivery of her next meal....her third favorite thing at the moment. A bit more tidy

What kind of dog is that?

No it's not a fabla-doodle-super-schnoodle or what ever the latest mixed breed fad is, this is a Standard Schnauzer in glorious full 'blown' coat. People see the Standard Schnauzer at dog shows or when visiting a breeder in beautiful hand stripped, tidy show coat, many ask me what happens if you just leave the coat to grow in....well this is what happens :-)) Doesn't she look adorable! I will be pulling all this long coat out over the next couple of weeks and will post an after shot up of the same dog. But in the mean time I am enjoying taking lots of photos of her in her marvelous shaggy wiry coat.

Window Gazing

We call this Fiddle's winter enrichment program. We placed bird feeders outside this window last Autumn. Mick remarked that this small addition has greatly enriched the dogs lives, especially Fiddle who loves to spend hours observing the birds come and go. Of course the highlight are the visiting red squirrels, last fall the chipmunks were a huge hit.
