Dealing with the heat
Seems a hot humid spell has hit us the last several days, what better activity for schnauzers then hanging on the dog deck watching the golfers across the road. Although I curse these trees come fall when they dump all their leaves into my dog runs, it sure does lower the temperatures on these hot summer days.

Introducing....
The worlds sweetest schnauzer. I know, I know, you are saying, no way mine is, however I have to disagree and say that Hazel is indeed the sweetest schnauzer I have ever met. I normally don't keep pups with her personality, they just don't do very well in my household, as a rule I keep the most obnoxious and outgoing pups in the litter. Hazel was rather submissive and softly affectionate from the start, of course I mentally dismissed her as the choice for me, but somehow... here she is. I had a friend stay for a few days the other week, she quickly informed me that Hazel was indeed a very sweet pup, she declared however, that her half sister (whom she owns) was the sweetest, but, by the end of her stay, she had to agree that Hazel IS the sweetest pup she has ever met.

Waiting for a road trip

Forest walk
With the pups all in their homes and a little more time to myself we headed up to the Northumberland Forest for our first forest walk of the year. This was Edee's first adventure on the trails, she seemed to enjoy herself and returned home tired...of course the fact that we switch trails, got lost and had to backtrack to the old trail to find the parking lot might of had something to do with it.
Juno and Edee waiting to start the trail walk. I haven't been to these trails for a couple of years, however, Juno began to hyper-ventilate in excitement as soon as I turned onto the dirt road to the parking lot.

The results
We have worked hard...is that a bit of the 'Royal We' ? hmmm....OK Mick worked very hard to get these raised beds installed, but I did do some of the planting. Looks like we are starting to reap some of the rewards. Now just have to get it all fenced to keep the dogs and foraging bunnies out of it.
Check out my lettuce, spinach and carrots, time to start thinning.
