Love the older dogs

Everyone loves a puppy...for a time, eventually an owner hopes to have a fantastic, mature companion. Raising the two terrors Hickstead & Olive along with teenager Clover emphasizes how wonderful the breed is when finally grown. I relish the couple of hours here and there when the pups are snoozing in crates and I can relax with my older dogs. Cutter agrees. Just think, only another couple years before they emerge from puppy-hood sigh.......

More silly laughs

It's all about the timing. Hickstead, being a total butt headed boy pup tries to hump the girls, he is corrected by both myself and the schnauzers girls for behaving like an ass, but Daisy delivers the best correction of all. This just made me laugh so hard. Have a great weekend.

Wha....no???

Poor Clover, she asks "has everyone around here lost their minds?" Clover is stunned to have Daisy say NO YOU CAN NOT HAVE MY CHEWY! Looks like finally Daisy is setting out her boundaries for Clover. A confusing turn of events for our little pushy girl Clover.

Angel or Devil's Spawn?

What do you see when you look at this photo of Clover? A sweet, sleepy puppy...well you would be wrong, this little wiry canine is pure evil. It's true, my super easy, sweet puppy is 6 months old and has morphed into a holy terror. It's like she woke up one day and decided that she was going to make ever waking hour an exercise in annoying everyone in the house. Daisy bares the brunt of it as she is just too nice, Clover has been mauling her, oh yeah it's all in 'play' but I can see that evil little schnauzer mind working away with thoughts of future world domination. I am to blame, she has been such an easy pup to have around that I have let her have way too many liberties at way to young an age. So operation 'attitude adjustment' starts today for the little hooligan. Check back for updates, I think the journey is going to be bumpy.

Going to Place and Stay

I have been trying to get the beast Hexe obedience trained. She is such an enthusiastic student, picks everything up so quickly, however the 'stay' command needs work. Her attention span while in 'stay' mode is short and she is anxious to do something a little more exciting. To combat this I have been working her on the 'place' command, basically performing a sit/down stay on an object...stools, grooming box, mat, and this time a chair. This method has helped to stop her from creeping towards me during the stay. Occasionally we add distractions :-)
