The Nanny

Daisy enjoying a Spring afternoon
Daisy, or Auntie Daisy as I am sure the pups would affectionately call her, is always a favourite nanny to our pups.  She is playful, indulgent, energetic, tolerant and has more patience then I will ever have with a litter of pups.  She adores them, when we first bring a young litter downstairs to socialize she just about bursts with happiness.  Yesterday the final two pups from Clover's litter left for their new homes, the boy in the morning, the little girl spent a couple more hours with us waiting for her new family to arrive.  During that time Daisy and I did our best to wear the little monkey out before she left for the car ride to her new home.

Cozy morning

We have had a real turn in the weather, previously crazy sweaty heat and humidity to brisk cool, dare I say Autumnal, morning today. Daisy snuggles down into the new dog bed unaccustomed to this sudden change in weather.

Running our cares away

The birth of pups, although a wonderful and exciting time I also find very stressful. Trinny's pups born on Friday even more so. Not that anything went wrong, on the contrary, this was one of the easiest, fastest deliveries (7 healthy pups born in less then 3 hours) however, Trinny is the much loved companion of another family, which means I worry twice as much, wanting everything to go as smoothly as possible with no additional dramas. Once the pups arrived and everyone settled in it was a blast to head off to the lake with Hexe and blow off that stress. Hexe is the perfect beach buddy.

flower girl

I love wild flowers, some might call them weeds, but I insist they are wildflowers and they are very welcome to grow on our very unruly, wild property. I couldn't find a nice bunch of wild daisies to photograph Daisy amongst, however I think she looks lovely nestled in amongst the Queen Anne's Lace.

I do own dogs other then Daisy

But Daisy is a photo ham, somehow when ever I pick up the camera, there she is. I didn't really notice at first, however trying to get the camera focused on anyone else is almost impossible. "Wait wait I wasn't quite ready for that shot, I can do better." "How about this?... never mind that Token & Clover, if I move a little I can totally block them" "What do you mean move!" "Sigh....I am so under valued"
