Living with a houseful of schnauzers definitely has it's ups and downs. Normally there is little difference between my intact schnauzers and your average household pet, our dogs are also our companions and enjoy the same privileges as does your family pet schnauzer. However, twice yearly the girls cycle and go through a season for THREE LONG weeks. During this time our boys (thankfully only two at the moment) lose all brain function. They become mouth breathing, blithering fools, that can barely negotiate their hormone driven bodies through a doorway. Procreation is all that is circulating through the void between their two ears. We are into the final few days of the girls season, the boys are beside themselves as they begin to realize that their window of opportunity is about to slam shut for another six months.
