I love dogs, every morning they rush outside, I think, certain that today the sun will be out, the grass will be green and the birds will be singing. Oh, to be that optimistic every day. Even when reality rears its head, they are OK with that, snow is fun for them, sure they don't want to stay out for too long, but, every new snow fall elicits a good romp before returning to the door.
I need to get me some of whatever it is that keeps their spirits up!
It happened, after decades of life, I am fed up with Winter. I am over it, I am tired of being 'Canadian' and shrugging it off. I hate cold, I hate snow, I hate ice, I hate it all, I hate FREAKING winter, I will never look at a snowflake falling and think....oh isn't that peaceful and beautiful. I am totally over it, I 'get' the whole snowbird thing, yes, like others I use to laugh at the 'soft' Canadians that could not weather our Canadian winters and would flee south. No more, I totally understand and I want that.
Winter 2013/2014 you have kicked my ass and I am saying UNCLE!!!! You win, please, just make it stop :-(
Our Hexe and Cyrus pups are 4 weeks old now and the fun times are about to start. I sure hope this obscene cold leaves us in the next couple of weeks, my little house is not big enough to keep a litter of nine pups entertained, we will need some outside time to run off all that puppy energy! For now, we will enjoy moments like this, but, I have been raising pups long enough to know that in a week they will be everywhere at once. I now recall why I haven't had a winter litter for a few years :-) Pups will come downstairs next week, which means I will start to get a full nights sleep again, that should help.
