Wordless Wednesday

Morning Watch

Iska is a schnauzer visitor at Dinsdale. Co-owned by myself she resides with owner Brooke in Wisconsin. Iska's pups are 3 weeks old and requiring less time from her which means she can just hang around and do her own thing during the day. She loves to sit out on the porch and watch the chipmunks gathering seed. I have been trying to get a photo of her, but whenever I open the door she wags her tail and comes running in. I shot this through the door and kind of like the soft effect. Oops...I have been spotted.

Such characters

I took this photo yesterday of my Iska & Ash pups. They are just over 3 weeks of age and honestly, I find photos of pups pretty boring until about their 5th week. They just sit and look at you, little to distinguish one face from the other and no real animation (see black pup in the background for a typical 3 week puppy photo :-)). I was thrilled to have these two boys putting on a hilarious display of yawning and mouth wrestling for the camera and am so pleased I managed this photo of them. It has to be one of my favorite puppy shots to date.

Indian Summer

Autumn is my favorite time of the year and we are in the midst of a gorgeous Indian Summer in Southern Ontario. Brilliant blue skies warming up the days and the temps dropping back overnight. I know that winter will be following, we better enjoy the time spent outdoors while we can.

Seven days with seven dogs

You find the neatest things on You Tube. What a great adventure especially for the senior girl Suki that sparked the idea for the trip. Hmmmm....wonder if we should be looking for a 'Bongo Bus' for a schnauzer vacation? The film makers are a quirky enjoyable couple and their dogs all have an interesting history, you can meet the dogs here.

Super Fun Puppy Time

Incredible Fall weather allows the pups time outside to stretch their legs and expend some of that endless puppy energy. Enjoy the video it was fun filming the brats.

Happy Thanksgiving

I suppose as it is Thanksgiving in Canada I should have posed her in front of a Canadian flag. Oh well, regardless hoping everyone has a happy Thanksgiving, enjoy the turkey. We have been so busy with pups that a ready made stuffed chicken breast from our local butcher will have to do, actually it is delicious and I am looking forward to it, only down side is the lack of leftovers to be shared with the schnauzers. Enjoy the long weekend Canada!

Slight pause

We have a small intermission in blog postings. A couple days ago I threw my back out, I don't actually remember doing any one thing that caused it, but what started as a small (and easily ignored) ache early last week has me totally down. I knew I was spreading myself a little thin with dogs and pups and.....life. Guess this is a bit of a reality check. In the meantime, while I move at a snails pace and Mick works double duty trying to keep things in order the inmates are running the asylum. Check out this brat that barely moved an eye brow when I spotted her sleeping on the TV table as if it were a completely normal spot to plant herself. I love Schnauzers, they are always testing.
