No rest for the wicked

No time to stop and smell the flowers Yellow girl. With the good weather we will be working hard on our home renovations as well as tackling a larger veggie garden and of course Lia's litter of pups. Photos and postings may slow down for a few weeks to come. Mick is checking out his scaffolding as he prepares to tackle the house siding. Wish us luck.

Super Nova

We have the worlds most adorable puppy visiting for several days. Nova looks like a fluffy black bear in her puppy coat. Hazel is enjoying having a buddy however the older dogs in the house would rather she leave NOW please, apparently one pup is enough and two is too many. She has got to be the most happy pup I have ever met, always joyful and smiling, which apparently really annoys the Hell out of my adult dogs, very funny, I didn't know I had such a pack of misery guts until this little bit of fluff and sunshine came to visit.

Odd Dog

Old dogs are such odd creatures. During all the crazy morning activities, made even more crazy with the addition of super cute Nova, Jewels sat for several minutes with the rope bone watching the other dogs discipline the pups as they ran about annoying them all. Not sure what Jewels was thinking...she looked rather Zen-like and deep in meditation, perhaps Jewels could teach me her technique

You know you waaaant it

I LOVE this freaking ball

Standard Schnauzers can be a little obsessive at times. This ball was 'the' yard toy today.

Juno snatches and runs

It's mine....all mine I tell you!

black and a bit of tan

Hazel loves Token, she follows her around everywhere, she has started snoozing on the window in the morning sun with Token. However, she starts to melt.............and her tongue gets very long, she looks like her big sister Hexe in this photo

Doggie in the window

Token is growing up, nine months old and so composed, very different from a Standard Schnauzer of the same age.

Gate Guards

Tuesday mornings usually includes a crowd overseeing my attempts to get the garbage out. You have no idea how many times Juno gets her head stuck here. Poor dear seems to have separation issues.

Freshly shorn

Thirteen year old Jewels and her ten year old daughter Gussy sporting their too long winter coats pose yesterday for a before photograph. And today they are both a heck of a lot less hairy, and rather pleased with themselves. Monday the clippers were taken to Cutter as well. I had been attempting to keep Cutter in a hand-stripped coat, but finally I gave in and gave him a new, short, tidy Spring clip as well. Cutter is such a weenie when it comes to grooming, he is pathetic about every plucked hair. Clipping him down was a lot less traumatic for Cutter....and less annoying to do. I actually think he looks very handsome.

Mother Nature has a 'weird' sense of humour

WTF?? You know that has got to be going through this robin's head, it was certainly going through my mind. Last week he was happily courting the she robins and pulling worms out of the ground...this morning...snow?? Come on Mother Nature, you are a few days late of April Fools day, what kind of a sick sense of humour do you have? Bring us back our Spring!

Enjoying Spring

Question: How do you know when you have provided enough exercise for your Standard Schnauzer? Answer: Try the tongue test...a tired schnauzer makes for a happy schnauzer owner.
