Feeling Funky
I am a little behind in my updates, with the totally crap Spring (harsh but I think properly descriptive) I've been in a bit of a funk. Instead of hashing on about the weather I am trying to keep occupied inside, with four week old pups and never ending home renovations, not too difficult.
The dogs are feeling cooped in and have been making life at the bird feeding window a nightmare. They have all become obsessed with the little red squirrels that have been cleaning up the fallen seed, last week I removed the feeder, this is our last window photo for the time being. Although it looks very serene, one glimpse of furry red coat has them flying across the room and slamming themselves against the window, followed by frustrated barks & yelps. Even schnauzers in deep sleep will suddenly dart up and race across the room in hot pursuit, not wanting to be the one to have missed the sighting of the little red rodent.
In this photo Jewels, as head of the canine pack, has prime observation seating, Fiddle waits in the background for a sign from Jewels that our little tuft tailed friend has arrived and the whole crazy cycle starts again.....

Snow Monster
The day after the storm the sun came out and the yard became a huge winter playground. The competitive nature of my black girls Juno & Hexe (also mother & daughter) shines through in these photos as they work that much harder to find and catch the balls of snow Mick was throwing for them. I think both these girls are over-achievers trying so hard to figure out what the game is and how they can win it.
